01. The Brief

The startup that dove head first into the mobile gaming market.

When the 23 year old professional gamer turned entrepreneur decided to enter an industry he grew up in, he decided to dive into it head first. With no prior experience in game development, Indian startup Tuff Husky Entertainment took a gamble with “there’s no better time than now”, and I was thrilled to be tasked with making this dream a reality.

The job was herculean, as I was given a blank canvas to work with. Apart from the general concept of the game being an endless side scroller – everything from the look & feel, the character development, level design and everything in between was in my sandbox.

02. My Role

After countless sketches and iterations, the buff red haired protagonist took shape. Upon arming him with a dragon gauntlet and a bandana – using traditional frame animation techniques – he slowly came to life, along with an admittedly witty personality.

Sprite sheets of characters running, jumping, sliding and shooting covered my desks – probably one of the most challenging yet fun filled experiences. At the end of the day, I was extremely satisfied with the final product.
